OUR PHILOSOPHY

Southern Pines CrossFit (SPCF) is a community of friends and family who share a desire to be fit.  We are organized around and affiliated with CrossFit; a fitness regimen developed by Greg Glassman.  CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program characterized by constantly varied, functional movements, performed at a high intensity.  At SPCF there is a lot more to the story, we are a community of people bound by occasional agony and constant laughter.

WHY CROSSFIT?

Constantly Varied

Our CrossFit workouts are carefully programmed to vary your body’s stimulus every day.  The breadth and depth of any program’s workouts will determine the results.  CrossFit’s aim has always been to be a broad, general and inclusive fitness program.  At SPCF, our programming is not just varied to get incredible results, it is safe whether you are a CrossFit games athlete or an 80-year old grandmother.

Functional Movements

CrossFit utilizes movements found in everyday life.  We move from our core to our extremities. CrossFit movements are also compounded, meaning that we use multiple joints at once.  Functional movements are mechanically sound and therefore safe.  We at SPCF fully believe that these movements prepare you to be strong in your everyday life. This is why our programming relies on CrossFit's nine foundational movements.

High Intensity

We have learned that harnessing the natural camaraderie, competition and fun of sport or game, yields an intensity that cannot be matched by any other means.  That’s right, the way we bring the intensity is the reason you will get the results you are looking for and why it is so much fun! Intensity is defined exactly as power, it is also the independent variable most commonly associated with maximizing results. You will surely find the intensity at SPCF.

CrossFit is not for everyone, but it is for anyone!

If you want your fitness level to improve while you relax on the couch, CrossFit is not for you.  If you are willing to learn some new movement patterns, laugh, get uncomfortable and sweat, then CrossFit is for you regardless of your age or current fitness level.  Success is often best learned in the physical province.
